For some people, ensuring your new ride has enough space to avoid banging your knees against the steering wheel isn’t a part of the car-shopping experience. However, if you’re a driver who is taller than six-foot-two, or just someone who enjoys a little extra legroom, it’s likely one of the first things you check when you take a test drive.
Test-driving every vehicle to make sure your head doesn’t touch the roof isn’t the most practical use of your time, so the team here at Jim Taylor Buick GMC has created a list of the vehicles we think our taller customers will adore.
If you’re like most shoppers these days, you start your car shopping experience online. That means you’ll have to rely on spec sheets and reviews to help you decide which vehicles warrant further exploration and which ones will leave you with bruised knees. Below are a few of the specs and features you should look for.
Now that you know what you’re looking for, below are some of the GMC and Buick vehicles that meet these specifications.
The GMC Sierra 1500 has plenty of head and legroom in both the front and rear seats. The 2024 model offers 44.53 inches of legroom in the front row and 43.11 inches of headroom. Even the rear seat of the GMC flagship truck has more than enough wiggle room for tall passengers, with 43.4 inches of legroom.
It shouldn’t be surprising to see the massive Yukon or the even larger XL model on this list. The Yukon and Yukon XL have the largest cabins in the GMC lineup. The front row of both models offers 44.5 inches of legroom and 42.3 inches of headroom. It features large side mirrors, and from the SLE trim up, it features a 10-way power adjustable seat to allow you to find the perfect position for visibility and comfort.
If you’re looking for something a little more maneuverable, the mid-size 2024 GMC Acadia has a smaller turning radius than the Yukon and the Sierra 1500. So, it can whip through urban city streets with better ease, but it still has a spacious interior with 44.28 inches of legroom in the front row and 41.45 inches in the second row.
The 2024 Buick Enclave, while it’s smaller than GMC’s mid-size SUV, still has plenty of space in the front row with 41.2 inches of legroom and 42.6 inches of headroom.
The 2024 Buick Envista is another great premium brand option. It offers style, class, and a long list of interior amenities on top of a spacious front row with plenty of space. Drivers have 40.9 inches of legroom and 39.4 inches of headroom.
If you’re a tall driver hunting for a vehicle built to accommodate you, the GMC and Buick lineups have a full roster of options you’ll love. Visit us at Jim Taylor Buick GMC to see them firsthand.
