Every year we hold a memorial sales event in honor of our former owner and founder, Jim Taylor. Jim was born March 12th, 1944 and died March 25th, 2014. In 2015, the first annual Jim Taylor Memorial sales event was held at Jim Taylor Chevrolet, donating over $15,000 to the St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, which cared for Jim in his final days. Over the last 9 years, our auto group has been able to donate over $217,000 to several amazing programs that support our community in so many ways.

Below are the different organizations and initiatives that have been supported over the years.
In 2023, for the 9th annual Jim Taylor Memorial event, our organization chose to support the growth of the Signs of Suicide Program, and initiative of the Children’s Coalition. We as an organization believe the prevention of suicide starts with education. With this $30,000 donation, the Signs of Suicide Program was able to begin expanding from just middle schools into our local high schools. Read more about this here
The 8th annual Jim Taylor Memorial event supported the Food Bank of NELA and the John Clarke Perry Foundation. Each organization received $16,000 to further their efforts to help those in need, whether that is food needs or medical needs. You can Learn more here
For our 7th annual Jim Taylor Memorial Sales Event, our dealerships raised a combined total of $32,100. The proceeds were distributed between the Desiard Street Center, now known as The Renewal Center, and the Salvation Army of Louisiana. You can learn more here.
For the fifth annual Jim Taylor Memorial Sales Event, we were able to donate almost $25,000 to The Arc Of Ouachita, an organization that strives to empower persons with developmental disabilities and their families to have quality lives through instruction, support, and opportunity.You can learn more here and here
In 2018, we were able to support Med Camps of Louisiana for our 4TH annual Jim Taylor Memorial Sales Event. We were able to donate nearly $20,000 to support the residential summer camp for children living with chronic illness and disabilities.You can learn more here and here
In 2017, we split our proceeds from the third Jim Taylor Memorial Sales event between the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Louisiana and the Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation. We were able to donate a combined total of over $20,000 to these two organizations.
For our second annual Jim Taylor Memorial Sales event, we chose to support the Wellspring’s Services for Homeless Veterans, which includes transitioning veterans into homes. This year, we were able to donate $23,000 in honor of Jim.
Our first annual Jim Taylor Memorial Sales event benefited the St. Joseph’s Hospice Foundation, which is the organization that cared for Jim during his final days. In his memory, we were able to donate $15,000 to this foundation.
